I'm sure those of you who are friends with both Jimmy and me on Facebook laugh behind our backs as we post, "This restaurant looks amazing! Let's check it out!" on each other's walls... as if we don't have a 7 month old at home and haven't been out to eat anywhere except Houston's in months. (That's not a knock on Houston's... it's awesome). The DESIRE to go out on the town and check out new places is still there even if the work/preparation that goes into it proves to be fairly difficult. Next year I resolve to try some of the intriguing new restaurants popping up around Atlanta. Going out to a nice dinner with my love is one of my favorite things in life, and next year I will!
Here are some of the places I'm really looking forward to trying!
A new Spanish restaurant from the Castellucci Hospitality Group. Executive Chef LANDON THOMPSON prepares: Basque cuisine, the cuisine of the Basque people, includes meats and fish grilled over hot coals, marmitako and lamb stews, cod, Tolosa bean dishes, paprikas from Lekeitio, pintxos (Basque tapas), Idiazabal sheep’s cheese, txakoli sparkling wine, and Basque cider.
Gypsy Kitchen
Location: 3035 Peachtree Rd NE Suite A209 Atlanta, Georgia
The Southern Gentleman is a Southern-inspired gastropub in the new Buckhead Atlanta development. The concept celebrates every aspect of what it means to be from the South with a fresh, modern take on traditional dishes made with locally sourced ingredients from executive chef Randy Lewis. The bar program, curated by general manager Garron Gore, will explore the artistry and history of classic Southern cocktails—everything from barrel-aged cocktails to bottled libations to adult beverages on tap, along with New World wines and craft beers and the “perfect” mint julep.
I hope you are all getting your new years plans in order! I just overnighted my NYE dress, so fingers crossed it gets here before we leave for Miami :)
Peace out, and here's to EATING OUT next year!
