Christmas morning at our house is like a Miller Brothers explosion. My dad, Rick Beacham, is a long time customer and fan of the Atlanta men's shop. He usually stops by to get special gifts for the men of the family. After present opening, the Miller Brothers signature wrapping paper is flung across the living room, and all the men are holding new UGA or Ole Miss shirts, needlepoint coaster sets, or cuff links.
When I first met Jimmy he was an Alabama fan, but through persistence, well-made arguments, and many Miller Brothers purchases, he's slowly turning the corner and becoming a Dog fan. Where's the fun in winning ALL THE TIME? ;)
Robby and Greg (The Miller Brothers) are welcoming, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about their products. Before our engagement party, Jimmy and I went in to get him a jacket and a pair of shoes. Jimmy fell in love with a specific pair, but they did not have his size. Robby called Stockton's at Lenox mall and placed the pair on hold for us so we could have them in time for the party. That is the epitome of customer service.
Speaking of customer service, Miller Brothers has a full bar. There have been so many times I've been in there with Jimmy (Mr. Indecision) as he agonizes over one shirt or another, and I just needed a drink. Not to be a cheap date or whatever, but offer me a beer and I'll love you forever.
As a Southern artist myself, I have major respect for the paintings and photographs hung throughout the shop. Today I actually gasped when I was back in the dressing area and saw a Howard Finster on the wall. He is my all time favorite artist, so mad props there. They also have an extensive collection of Steve Penley paintings around, as well as framed golf shots, an Allman Brothers poster and leather animals. It doesn't get much more Southern than that.
I found myself hanging around the store longer than I needed to when I was taking pictures because it was such a nice atmosphere. People came in to talk to the brothers, browse the merchandise, get alterations, or pick up packages.
There is a stacked stone fireplace with a large TV, and it creates a space that you don't want to leave. My dad says on nice days the fire up the grill and offer customers a burger. Clothing + Burgers + Beer - It doesn't get much better than that.
Miller Brothers is located at 3207 Paces Ferry Place. They are open Monday through Saturday, so there's ample opportunity for you to go get your man something for Valentine's Day.
You're welcome ;)
