Last weekend the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta asked Jimmy and I to be their guests for a night, and we eagerly accepted! As much as I love Oliver, I jumped at the chance to have a night out with my husband. The Mandarin is fairly new to Atlanta and offers 5 star service and an unbeatable location. It's across the street from Lenox mall and within walking distance to some amazing shops and restaurants.
Since our honeymoon trip, Jimmy and I consider ourselves quite the hotel critics, and I can tell you that the Mandarin exceeded our expectations, which were high! The service was exceptional. When we checked in the front desk agent knew exactly who we were. We told her we had the Atlanta Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club party that night across the street, and she offered to set up the house car for us, which was so thoughtful.
She also upgraded us to a Mandarin Premier Room, which was very spacious and had quite the luxurious bathroom. When we got to our room, the manager was walking by and greeted us by name and gave us his card.
The staff was so nice to leave macaroons in our room, and they even left a stuffed panda for Oliver!
I know they say don't judge a book by it's cover, but I totally judge a hotel by its wet bar and shampoo selection, and the Mandarin Oriental nailed it.
I loved the shampoo so much I brought what was left home with us, and the mini bar was on point.
I needed to head right into the bathroom as soon as we got to our room to start getting ready for the awards dinner. I loved the size and the finishes in the bathroom.
Do you guys remember when I told you about the Calypso sale where you could get 70% off? I ordered this dress knowing I would need it one day. It was perfect for the awards dinner! I wore it with this necklace that my brother gave me for Christmas. He must be a huge TPL fan, because it was pictured here on my holiday gift guide :)
Although I failed to get a picture of the outfit at the event, we did take a selfie with my oldest friend in the world, Lauren Zqutowicz, who works with me at Beacham & Company now.
Much like our stay at the Four Seasons Palm Beach, Jimmy and I had big plans to go back to the Mandarin after the awards dinner and watch Oscar nominated movies, but once again we were asleep before we pushed play. Ah, life as parents.
The next morning we slept until 9:30! Now, in my college days I could sleep well past noon, but moms don't get to sleep late! It was such a luxury. We hung out in our bathrobes and ordered room service.
There's always something that makes me excited about room service. When I was a little kid and we would get room service, it was the biggest treat in the world and felt almost magical. I've never lost that. Every time the doorbell rings and someone is there with a table of food for me I get so excited.
After breakfast we went down to the spa. Please do not think that is me in the the above picture! ha ha. They do not allow photos in the spa (which I totally appreciate), so I borrowed this one from their website.
I also borrowed this photo of the spa rooms. I can hands down say this is the best spa I've been to in Atlanta. I got a an Oriental Essence massage, which used aromatherapy and massage and was so relaxing. I honestly almost fell asleep on the table. Afterwards I took full advantage of the steam room and sauna.
My favorite thing about the spa was the staff. They greeted us as soon as we walked in, and I got my own tour of the facilities. I really appreciated that because I was always able to find my way around. I was offered towels and water and anything I might need. It was a wonderful experience. I could have stayed forever, but it was time to go pick up Oliver.
Before we left we asked the valet to take a photo of us. I think he did a great job! We never get photos together, and he really took his time, and I love the picture! They called the house car for us and drove us the 1.5 miles back to our house.
Guys, how cute is my husband?
If you have friends or family in from out of town, I really cannot recommend the Mandarin Oriental more. We had a wonderful experience, and I feel confident your guests will as well. I also think it's the prefect place for an overnight even if you live in Atlanta. We certainly enjoyed it!
