I've officially entered into my last week as a mom of one! The little girl should be here next Wednesday, and we are so excited to meet her. With help from friends and family, we've done all the final prep for a baby girl... a pink nursery, smocked dresses, and her very own rocking chair! Her room is right across the hall from Oliver's, and he can't pass by the door without going in and sitting in her chair.
I've spent the last month at home and/or on bedrest, which has given me a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with Oliver, and he's just the best kid. He's so smart, funny and kind. Every night Jimmy and I go to be thinking, "How in the world are we going to love another child as much as we love this one?"
I know that's a very common mom thought, and I'm certain I'll fall just as in love with her the first time I see her, but how does one person's heart hold that much love?
I will be so happy to accept any thoughts or prayers you feel like sending my way for a healthy delivery! We can't wait to meet our little girl! (in the linked post I wrote about how I've wanted a little girl my entire life, so it's a dream come true). I will post some pictures when she is here! You can follow me on Instagram for all the best pics :)
As a self described bedding snob, it probably comes as no surprise that last time I had a baby I asked Jimmy for a new mattress as a "push present." No, it wasn't a ring or fancy jewels, but I have enjoyed it every single night and am so happy with the decision. Since I already asked for a mattress, I decided to go easy on him this time and asked for Lake Pajamas. Everywhere I look there are women singing their praises, and I can't wait to try my own pair! I hope they get here in time for my hospital stay! Fingers crossed. I will report back if they are amazing as everyone claims!
The one plus to being on this bedrest is that the doctor cleared me to paint as long as I was sitting. I haven't done this much work since college and am really enjoying it. It's so nice to be able to concentrate on something, and it's really relaxing. I've loved watching the pieces evolve over the last few months and am excited to see where they go.
Here are a few of the new pieces:
And finally, since I can't take photos, I missed out on shooting this new listing of Glennis Beacham's, but I heard it's one of her best ever! I can't wait to see it!
Enjoy your weekend, and hug your family - that's what it's all about, right?
See you on the other side!
