Weekend Recap and Monday Inspiration

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend! On Saturday I had an inspection I for Glennis Beacham.  If you're not familiar, that's when a buyer brings in an expert to make sure everything is ok with the house they are buying.  It's a process that takes several hours, which I used to come up with some great blog content for you guys this week!

Saturday night Jimmy and I went to Decatur on a date night.  Jimmy asked me to pick restaurants, and I'd been itching to use this guide from Atlanta Magazine of the 50 Best Restaurants in Atlanta.  We started with drinks at Kimball House.  I must say the bar was extremely impressive.  Not only did I love the look of it, but they took my regular drink and elevated it to something really special with fresh orange juice, big cubes of ice, and a metal straw.

We ate dinner at Ford Fry's Italian restaurant No. 246  (another recommendation from the Atlanta Magazine list of the 50 Best Restaurants in Atlanta).  The pasta was homemade and authentic, the strawberries were SUPER fresh, and the restaurant was well designed.

On Sundays Jimmy usually takes the kids to church so I can paint.  I am still working during the week, so I need to devote a lot of weekend time to the studio.  Yesterday I updated my new website, which if you haven't seen you should!  I'm so proud of it!  I did it through ArtCloud, which you should check out if you like art or if you're an artist who needs inventory management.

I have 4 new paintings going to the Lee Industries showrooms at High Point Market in April with Lucky Fish Gallery, which you can now see on my website.

The last and most important thing I did this weekend was finish up the maps I am doing for The Beacham Series.
I offered to do 4 of them thinking I could do them in a few hours (cringing!!!!), but they ended up taking MUCH MUCH longer.  I was so happy to finish them yesterday I could have wept!  I am really excited to see how the look in the magazine though!

I ended the weekend in the bed with Oliver watching the new Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.  I am being 100% honest with you when I say it's the most positive and uplifting show I've seen in a long time!  Talk about celebrating the human spirit and recognizing that every single person is special and worth loving.  I was smiling the entire show.  It's fabulous.

This is a great article about why the show is resonating so much with viewers.

Monday Inspiration

Over the weekend I was scouring the internet for fresh blog content and came across this beauty from Mexico City on Milk Decoration.
