I've been a nightly bather for as long as I can remember. It's my happy place. It's where I go after a hectic day to just be alone and unwind. While baths have always been important to me, now that I'm a mom I cherish them. There's nothing better than getting the baby to bed and then climbing into a hot bath to unwind and decompress. Here are the 5 things I need to make my bath PERFECT.
1. A Glass of Wine
There is just NOTHING better than a glass of wine in the bathtub. I prefer red wine (this Van Duzer is nice), but I've heard a chilled glass of white is not bad either. We recently moved, and our new bathtub had no place for me to set down my wine. I picked up this beautiful garden stool at Home Goods, although I kind of love this one from VivaTerra.
2. The Perfect Candle
My friend and I discovered these Rescued Wine candles at the Atlanta Gift mart a few weeks ago. They are made from recycled wine bottles (score). The company is based in Truckee, CA, and most of the bottles come from the casinos near there. The upcycle them into these great candles named after types of wine. If that wasn't enough, they also give a percentage of their profits to animal charity! This Cabernet is a relaxing smell that makes me feel like I'm in a spa.
3. Soaking Salts or Bathing Milk
I discovered Little Barn Apothecary on Instagram a few weeks ago, and now I'm their biggest fan. Everything they make is in small batches. The company is located in Stone Mountain, GA. I fell in love with the packaging at first, but the products are unbelievable. I did a mixture of the salts and the bathing milk. I was sitting in the tub thinking, "what is that amazing smell," and then it dawned on me it was the salts! Apparently I am used to drug store products that smell fake and too strong. This was like sitting a a garden. The smell was subtle and not overpowering at all. It was fresh and clean and smelled really natural. I will be using it nightly.
4. A Good Salt Scrub
As a new mom, I just do not have time to go to the nail salon or spa anymore. This is the next best thing! Like their other products, the simple body scrub is clean and natural. It was better than any mani/pedi I've ever gotten! My skin felt so alive. Of course, I used it all over and felt like I'd have a very expensive treatment.
5. Good Post Bath Products
I am not a huge fan of lotion or anything that takes away the clean feeling from my skin, but this Simple Skin Salve is perfect! There is no residue, and it's perfect for dry winter skin. I used it on my fingers and toes, and it felt so nice after the salt scrub.
Do you make time for a bath? If so, what are your favorite products?
