Happy Friday everyone! Here is TPL's curated list of the best things happening in ATL this month. There are a ton of Christmas events starting the last week in November, but I will save those for the list of December happenings. If you are an early Christmas planner, you can check out this list.
One thing that is not included but worth seeing is the new fashion exhibit at the High Museum this month. Iris van Herpen Transforming Fashion starts November 7th and continues through May 15th. My friends on Facebook have been raving about it (must have gone to a sneak peak), so I'm looking forward to checking it out.
I'm also hoping the rain holds off so my fam can hit up Chomp and Stomp tomorrow. Enough of this weather already!

Nov 7th: Chomp and Stomp + Bluegrass Festival
My favorite festival all year! Chili and good music is a no brainer, and I also love all the art booths! Located in Cabbagetown. More info here.
Nov. 7th-8th: Sixth Annual Chastain Park Fall Arts & Crafts Festival
The Chastain Park Arts Festival will host its sixth annual event at Chastain Park along Park Drive for approximately 185 artists and artisans.
Visitors will enjoy fine art and crafts, a children's area and local food and beverage concessions including the gourmet food trucks. Local acoustic musicians will enliven the atmosphere. This event is organized by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces and volunteer artists. Best of all, it’s entirely free to attend!
Nov. 7th/8-12PM: Callaway Gardens Steeplechase
A Callaway Gardens tradition on the first Saturday of every November, the Steeplechase features thoroughbreds racing through woodland surroundings, plus pony rides, a foxhound parade, a hat contest and much more. Steeplechase beneficiaries include the non-profit Ida Cason Callaway Foundation and its mission of environmental conservation, education and land stewardship.
Nov 7th: Bazaar on the Beltline
The Bazaar on The Beltline is a multi-vender pop-up market event for all things vintage, rustic, handmade, and reclaimed. 1/2 block from the Krog Street Market and 15 ft off the Beltline, there will be vintage clothing & goods, furniture, art, houseware, handmade items, tamales, desserts, fresh produce, doggy treats, and so much more! With over 20 vendors, there is sure to be something for everyone.
Nov. 7th Decatur Wine Festival
Taste wines from around the globe, sample delicious food from Decatur-area restaurants, and enjoy music at metro Atlanta’s largest outdoor wine festival. After theConundrums warm you up with an explosion of live rhythm and beats, you can groove to the spins of DJ Troy Cono, back by popular demand, to get everyone working it out on our plaza/dance floor. (#decaturwinefest for those selfies!)
Expect a little art on the side like chalk artist Jessi Queen. Also, since it's Decatur, there's got to be spectacle, so this year make way for the Venus of Winendorf. For you art and history buffs, she is the imagined offspring of Bacchus, the god of wine, and the ancient fertility goddess, Venus of Willendorf. The Venus will move about the festival in her amazing chariot with her entourage to enhance your wine festival experience . . . and your Instagram feed. Thank you to the Decatur Makers (decaturmakers.org) and Art 120 (art120.org) for the design and fabrication of the Venus and her conveyance.
Proceeds benefit the Decatur Arts Alliance, which produces the Decatur Arts Festival and many other arts events, free to the community each year.
Nov 8th - Serenbe's 15th annual Afternoon in the Country
Atlanta Les Dames d’Escoffier International will host its 15th Annual Afternoon in the Country at Serenbe on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 1pm to 4pm. Chefs from Atlanta’s top restaurants, paired with our area’s best farms will be set up in a tasting format alongside fine wines and premium micro-brews--all under festive big-top tents in the beautiful gardens surrounding The Inn at Serenbe near Palmetto. Other highlights include: Live music, a one-of-a-kind cake raffle featuring sweets from Atlanta's top pastry chefs, hayrides, children's activities and an expansive silent auction offering exclusive dining and travel packages, food and wine merchandise and original art by prominent local artists.
Nov 8th/7-9PM: Beer and Hymns at Smiths Olde Bar
Atlanta Bar Church presents Beer and Hymns: A gathering of seekers, sinners, and saint. We meet in Smith's Olde Bar's Atlanta Room to sing old school hymns while enjoying some adult beverages (or not if you're sober.)
Nov. 11th - Waiting on Martha at the Frye Co. at Ponce City
Mandy Kellog Rye of Waiting on Martha will be holding a styling event at the Frye Co. in Ponce City Market 7-9 p.m. Shoppers are invited to have a styling session with one of Atlanta’s most fashionable and explore the Frye Co.’s fall and winter collections for men and women as they enjoy complimentary bites and drinks from the Optimist and music by DJ Pat O’Brien. Nov. 13-15th SoJam A Capella Festval
SoJam is a weekend-long a cappella extravaganza brought to you by The Contemporary A Cappella Society (CASA). Now in its 12th year, the festival is jam-packed with Concerts, Competitions, Master Classes and hands-on workshops led by some of the biggest names in the vocal music universe! Nov. 14th - Autumn Block Party in Inman Park
Kicking off, Saturday, November 14th, from 2-6PM. Our new and growing businesses are emerging in the Inman Quarter neighborhood within Inman Park and to celebrate and introduce ourselves to the community we have joined together to throw an event celebrating our eclectic local talent, fashion, food, drink and shopping!
In the style of a block party our businesses will all come together to bring the community a fun and free event, open to the public. Local artists will be joining us to demonstrate their artistic processes from woodworking and live painting to bath & beauty products (and more!), while displaying some of their new seasonal items. Activities will include a fashion show, raffles, demonstrations, Q&As, drinks, food and much more! There will be freebies, discounts, and lots of networking opportunities! Nov. 14th- Jan 9th Atlanta Botanical Gardens Garden Lights
My all time favorite holiday tradition! Go and get yourself a spiked hot chocolate or glass of Champagne with Rudolph's nose (a cherry on top).
The annual electrical extravaganza features spectacular light displays throughout the Garden. In 2015, explore new features like the massive Tunnel of Light along with favorites such as the Orchestral Orbs, Glittering Galaxy, Radiant Rainforest, and Model Trains that continue to make the exhibition a must-see holiday tradition.
Nov. 28th: Insane Inflatable 5K
In a holiday season full of pies and comfort foods, running around would do us all a little good. Sure, you can run a 5K on a street or a track, but what about bunch of inflatable obstacles? Oh yes, it's a real thing. Channel your inner child and head to the Atlanta Motor Speedway for a race where you and a few thousand of your closest friends navigate bouncy houses made just for adults.
