Living life in 3 hour intervals...

Hi everyone!  Well, we made it to Quinn's original due date!  She was 3 weeks old on Wednesday.

Happy due date to the snuggliest (and longest) baby girl I know ❤️❤️❤️

So far our original predictions were accurate.  She is a VERY good baby.  She is so quiet and we've only heard her cry a handful of times.  She loves being held, although Jimmy prefers that I don't hold her as much as I want so she can learn to be independent.  Since he didn't carry her around in his stomach for 9 months, I don't put a lot of stock in his opinion ;).

But for real...  Jimmy has been a saint.  He gets up with me in the middle of the night.  He does bottles.  He does poops.  He does dishes.  I really would be useless without him.  He was born to be a dad and is very very good it it... so the kids and I are super lucky.  When I had Oliver I wrote about how much I leaned on Jimmy those first few months, and it's no different with Quinn. I'd forgotten the fear and anxiety that comes with taking care of a tiny baby, and I find it so comforting when Jimmy tells me it's all going to be ok.  Even thought I know he doesn't know any more than I do, at least I know he's in it with me!

My favorites 💕💕💕

A lot of people have asked me how Oliver's been reacting to the new baby.  He has been OK. He's kissed her and held her hand every day, hit her a handful of times, and head butted her once.  I think that evens out to a win for us! :)  (Pro tip... putting on Frozen at 5 o'clock is not lazy or annoying.  It's the key to survival).

So hard to get going on a Monday.

Quinn, like all newborns, eats every three hours (if not more), which makes leaving the house difficult.  On top of that, she gets really really hot, so it's best for us to stay home.  Friends have been so wonderful dropping off food (for real!!!  You guys are THE BEST), but on nights when it's just us, we've been ordering delivery.   UberEATS is an awesome app that will deliver food from many of your favorite restaurants.  The other night we ordered a bunch of salads, sandwiches and desserts from Sweet Hut Bakery and Cafe just to have on hand.  It's been so nice not to have to think about food in the middle of the day with so much happening!

UberEATS is a great service, and they've offered a 50% (up to $15) for TPL readers!  Just download the App here and use the code EATSFAMBM for free food!!!  Yum.

I've mentioned my new paintings a few times on the blog, but they've honestly been such a gift and stress reliever to me the last few months.  My pregnancy was really really hard, and the only thing I could do on bed rest was watch TV and paint. Although I loved the hundreds of hours I spent watching Grey's Anatomy, I thought my brain was atrophying.  Painting is the same thing as therapy for me, and I've felt such a lightness and feeling of calm since I've been doing it again.  I appreciate all the kind words of support!  The likes, comments and emails makes me so happy.  Thank you all!

I just finished this piece for a friend, and I loved the process :)

Have a great weekend everybody!

Blayne
