I really have become the sheet testing queen! For real. My love of and devotion to the perfect bedding has become my thing... and I'm cool with it.
I'd never really given much thought to silk bedding until my friend Ginny started posting about it on facebook. She was asking for info about silk sheets and robes... the works. I thought it was kind of amusing but was living a life quietly devoted to European cotton and decided Ginny and I were just into different things. ;) But when Orose Silk reached out to me and asked me to try their silk sheets, I decided to take them up on their offer.
I tried the 6 piece set...
To be totally transparent, I was not overly impressed with the packaging, but since I pride myself in not judging a book by the cover, I forged ahead :). These silk sheets cannot be washed with regular detergent and should not be washed in the machine. Just to ensure proper care, I ordered this (below), and washed them before putting them on the bed.
When I finally got into bed it was pretty amazing. These silk sheets are really good quality, and it was fun to try something new. My favorite part of the set was the pillowcases, which were so soft against my skin and stayed very cool throughout the night.
I did find that I needed to shave my legs every day while sleeping on the sheets, which is kind of hard as the mom of an 8 week old, but sliding into bed every night was very luxurious and just what I needed at the end of long days.
At the end of the week we switched back to our regular cotton sheets so I could resume shaving my legs every third day (that's just the truth), but the silk sheets are folded and sitting in the closet on a prime shelf, ready to jump into action on birthdays, anniversaries or just a special Wednesday when I need some extra pampering.
I did hang on to one silk pillowcase and put it n the regular rotation, because who wouldn't want to sleep on that every night?
Happy Tuesday!
